The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4–23 is made of moulded carbon fibre / aluminium honeycomb composite incorporating front and side impact structures. It contains an integral safety tank to hold Mobil Unleaded fuel.

Mobil 1 specially is designed to minimize friction and maximize engine power output under high rpm conditions.
