1. I’ve noticed that Mobil Drive Clean motor oil has a lighter shade than usual. What is the reason for this change? Will it affect performance?
As of the summer of 2004, Mobil Drive Clean motor oil began to feature a new, lighter color. This change of color is due to a modification in one of the formula’s additive components, but has no effect on Mobil Drive Clean performance. In fact, a range of Mobil Drive Clean motor oil viscosities are formulated and produced at a number of different ExxonMobil manufacturing locations, which may result in slight differences in appearance; however, all formulations of Mobil Drive Clean motor oil meet the same quality and performance standards. While darker-colored Mobil Drive Clean motor oil is still available, it can be mixed with the new, lighter formula without any effect on product quality or performance.
