Mobil Centaur EP 461 is an advanced Extreme Pressure (EP) calcium sulfonate complex grease, designed to deliver robust protection in demanding industrial applications where heavy loads, water exposure, and corrosion risk are present.
Built on calcium sulfonate complex thickener technology, Mobil Centaur EP 461 provides a strong combination of EP performance, thermal stability, and exceptional resistance to water washout. Its formulation delivers enhanced mechanical stability while maintaining consistency and protection even under high water contamination.
The calcium sulfonate complex thickener used in Mobil Centaur EP 461 offers inherent rust protection and natural EP performance.
Compared with conventional soap‑based thickeners (e.g., lithium, aluminum, calcium soaps), the technology in Mobil Centaur EP 461 provides superior resistance to water washout, improved corrosion protection, and excellent structural stability in wet or saturated environments.
The grease maintains its EP capabilities and mechanical integrity even when exposed to high levels of water, supporting longer lubrication intervals and reliable component protection.
