Five years withzero problems from water demulsibility
A Turkish coiling mill had experienced a number of water demulsibility problems with a non-Mobil™ circulating oil that was previously used in two of their existing monoblock lines. This situation resulted in excessive oil consumption and unscheduled downtime.
Following the successful joint field studies by mechanical maintenance engineers of the plant and ExxonMobil engineers, it was decided to test Mobil Vacuoline™ 525 oil in the central system of one of the mill production lines.
Subsequent to the excellent water demulsibility of Mobil Vacuoline™ 525, the system was able to shed gross water contamination and operate with low levels of water in circulation. Mobil Vacuoline™ 525 circulating oil provided outstanding protection against corrosion. The sister production line now uses Mobil Vacuoline™ 525 oil. Not a single problem arising from water demulsibility has been experienced in either one of the two lines in the five years leading up to the date of report. Thus, better equipment protection has been ensured and unscheduled downtime has been prevented.
