Mobil SHC™ 629 synthetic gear oil helps processing plant triple its lubricant oil life*
Company-estimated 2-year savings ofUS $36,200
A Peruvian mining company operates six Dinamic Oil GB.45005.FS gear reducer agitators at its mineral processing plant. Lubricated with a mineral oil, the agitators were operated with oil drain intervals of 5,000 hours as recommended by the OEM. In an effort to increase productivity and reduce its total cost of ownership, the company approached ExxonMobil engineers for a lubricant solution capable of safely extending oil drain intervals beyond the OEM recommendation.
After assessing the situation, ExxonMobil engineers recommended switching to Mobil SHC™ 629 synthetic gear oil. Formulated with high viscosity base fluids and a unique proprietary additive system, Mobil SHC 629 oil is specifically designed to provide improved efficiency and outstanding performance in extreme service applications, well beyond the capabilities of mineral oils.
After switching to Mobil SHC 629 synthetic gear oil, the company reports that oil drain intervals have increased from 5,000 to 15,000 hours. This reduction in oil consumption and related maintenance has resulted in a company-estimated 2-year savings of more than US $36,200. And, based on the extended performance of Mobil SHC 629 oil, the company’s maintenance team is considering extending oil drain intervals even further.
