Industry standards are changing, but our standard of excellence is not. Mobil 1™ motor oils will continue to meet or exceed the new category requirements to keep your engine running like new.
The International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) recently announced the new GF-7 engine oil category, aimed at improving fuel economy and enhancing engine capabilities for passenger vehicles. The GF-7 category is effective as of March 31, 2025, and every new level of standard will be backward compatible with the previous generation going forward.

What you should know about GF-7:
- Which Mobil™ motor oil products are compliant with the new GF-7 standards?
- When can I purchase the new Mobil™ GF-7 engine oils?
- How can I find out if my vehicle requires a GF-7 engine oil?

Mobil 1™ and Mobil™ Full Synthetic motor oils will meet or exceed ILSAC GF-7 specifications.
You can expect to start seeing the new Mobil ILSAC GF-7 engine oils on store shelves from late 2025 into 2026.
