Situation

An Indonesian textile manufacturer operates two LMW Comber LK64 machines. Lubricated with a competitive synthetic oil, the machines’ gearboxes were running at elevated temperatures as high as 56°C (133°F). Maintenance personnel were also concerned with oil consumption based on a 3,000-hour drain interval.
