No, Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filters can be used with all types of motor oils – conventional, high mileage, synthetic blend and full synthetic oils. Using Mobil 1™ advanced full synthetic motor oil helps you provide maximum engine protection. When extending oil change intervals, we recommend Mobil 1™ Extended Performance and Mobil 1™ Annual Protection motor oils.

Simply follow these six essential steps for easy installation:

1. Use the proper cap tool to remove the oil cap.
2. Observe the positioning of the O-ring in the O-ring groove, then remove the old O-ring without damaging the plastic or metal cap.
3. Clean the cap and housing carefully.
4. Lubricate the new O-ring and cap seat completely with clean motor oil.
5. Install the new O-ring in the O-ring groove so it does not touch the cap’s threads.
6. Replace the cap and torque it with the correct tool to the recommended foot‐pound spec.
