Changing "new' oil
In June 2019 I changed the oil in the gas engine of 2013 Chevy Volt using M1 EP and a M1 filter. The gas engine in the Volt only runs when the battery reaches its minimum state of charge. Most of my driving is within the battery range, and as a result, the engine ran for less than 350 miles in the 2 year period. But the battery life monitor in the car just indicated it is due for a change due to elapsed time, so I am draining the "old" oil that is a clean as new, and refilling with the same product again and a new M1 filter. Since this will probably again be a long interval, I am quite comfortable using the Extended Performance oil and the premium filter to protect an engine that is idle for long periods.

Use this to protect my two Corvettes
I use this to keep my cars protected. My drag car and my track car are changed at normal intervals but the added protection keeps the engines in great shape and is worth the little extra cost on high performance cars.

Great for when the car is away
Use this for our kids cars. Some times the cars are away well over 6,000 miles before it is back home and the extra protection is nice

My engine runs smoothly
I have been using Mobil 1 for more than 3 years now for my 2 old cars, 2001 Ford Explorer and 2001 Saan 9-3. They have been running smoothly. I have been doing DIY so I can choose only Mobil 1 to put in my car.

Mobile 1 is EXCELLENT for my 2011 Ford Edge
Background:
In 2012, bought my Ford Edge Limited V6 with 32,000 miles on it. Decided to try Mobile 1 5W20 Synthetic. Started with their 10,000 mile, went to their 15,000 mile, now use 20,000 mile EP oil and have 210,000 miles on the car. The way I rate oil is by my car's oil sensor which tells me when I am down to 5% oil life, then I change it. Used to drive an average about 30,000 miles per year, now 12-15,000 miles.
Oil:
With 10,000 mile oil, I got between 8-10,000 miles depending on city or highway miles
With 15,000, I get between 12-13,000 miles
With 20,000, 15-17,000 miles
I tried Gastrol Edge 20,000 mile oil, when Mobil's EP was selling for $44 a jug ( I use 6qts/oil change) - only got about 10,000 miles. Switched back to Mobil 15,000 mile oil, until prices at Walmart for ET oil changed to about $3 more - Now use ET!
Oil Filters: Originally, used XG 10,000 & 15,000 filters, Walmart started carrying the Mobil 1 filters. Changed to Mobile 1 and got an additional 1-1.5k miles/oil change.
Am now over 70, pay an additional $13,00 to have someone else change and dispose of the oil, but during this entire time have NEVER had an engine-related failure. Just bought a 2020 Ford Edge (attention span isn't what I once had and felt I needed the new safety features). My old Ford will probably go to a family member or someone in need of reliable transportation.
Bottom line: As long as the price isn't ridiculous, I will stick with Mobil 1 - nothing I have tried matches their performance.

Don't waste good oil
I read these reviews and see those people that still change at 5k or 8k. I've owned three cars that made it to 200k and always changed at 15,000. That's what it says on the container. I strongly believe you are wasting good $$$ if you change more often.
I've told many people that I don't change my oil very often and I don't believe I have changed anyone's behavior. But maybe if you're on this site and reading this you may stop throwing out good oil that's wanting to protect your engine for 15,000 miles. As a matter of fact I think I need to go longer after reading some of these reviews!

I expect 200,00 plus miles, Benefit of Mobil One
Bought Ford Escape 4cyl and Chevy Silverado 6.2 liter V8 new in 2012. Mobil One Extended Life used in both since day purchased. Presently Chevy 148,012 miles and Ford 141,310 miles. NO leaks, No use of oil between 6,000 mile oil changes, No problems of any kind. I am retired now and expect to get 200K to 300K from these two thanks to Mobil One and simple maintenance. I always use Mobil One filters at every oil change. C. Linton

Mobil 1 Oil is incredible
Purchased it brand new & is now just a work car....I drive 100 miles a day round trip and have used Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 since the Toyota was at the 14K mile mark....Well the odometer now reads 290,000 miles and it does not leak a single drop whatsoever & has never had any component replaced nor cracked open for a bypass... I use it in my other two vehicles & will never use anything else.....Best motor oil in the world

Excellent product!
Let me explain by this: I have two cars; one is a 2006 Infiniti G35 that my wife rides and the other is my daily, 98 Buick Lesabre. my wife does not know anything about the cars. I mostly use Pennzoil but this time I preferred that one. My wife drove the car somewhere and when she came back home asked me: did you fix something on the car? It runs very smooth and silent.
I will definitely keep using that oil.

I wasnt satisfied with this Product at all. It didnt last the expected mileage and to top it off I was short a quart when I did a new oil change. I used both the extended life oil and filter. I will stick with just the regular synthetic oil.

Oil is not ever an issue
I have 2 Chevys, a 2001 Silverado with a 5.3 and a 2014 Corvette with the 6.2 LT1. Both vehicles get Mobil 1 EP. The Silverado's 5.3 is incredible over 400,000 miles and no oil usage, and I am the original owner. Mobil 1 Extended Protection was not available when the truck was new- we used regular Mobil 1 back then. When the Extended Protection became available, we switched. We are aware of the extended intervals, but still drop the oil every 5,000 miles. We look at it as the absolute best synthetic oil out there, and since we have over 400K on it without a rebuild, we must be doing something right. We only put about 3,000 miles a year on the Corvette (due to hibernation in the winter months). We use 5W30 Mobil EP because of the quality. We believe frequent synthetic oil changes are the most cost effective insurance a owner can perform on their cars and trucks. At this rate, when the Corvette hits 400,000 miles, it should be about 130 years old and still running strong.

Best oil for 2008 sienna van!!
I have over 304,000 miles on this van. I bought the van in 2008 and do the oil changes myself. This oil is so good that I go OVER 20,000 miles on it Every oil change!! I have the oil tested to show how well it is holding up. The people who do the testing said I can go 23,000 miles next time!! I'll take it to 22,000 miles and have it tested and there after I'm going to change it every 20,000 miles. I would like to keep the van until I have 500,000 miles on it. Oh, and by the way, the van does NOT use any oil between oil changes!! After the last oil change, the TBN was 1.9 after 21,177 miles! So I know it will do the 22,000 miles no problem! WOW!! Like I said, best oil for 2008 sienna van!!!

Used it exclusively for two different cars
I used this particular oil (extended performance 5w-30) on a 2007 toyota corolla and a 2006 nissan quest van. Different results occurred. The corolla is now at 167k miles and still going strong no engine trouble that I am aware of. On the nissan quest it was a different story though....at 170k miles i noticed significant oil burning and at one time I took it in for an oil change and mechanic said I had only 2 quarts left in the engine. At 210k miles the camshaft bearings gave out and I had to get rid of the van instead of paying over 4k to repair it. Maybe it wasn't the oil as much as it was just the build quality of nissans are not as good as toyotas?? I'm not certain what the real explanation is here. I never ever ever went over 6,000 miles even if it was an extended performance formula and I used the mobil 1 m1-108 oil filter on the nissan all the time. M1-103 on the corolla. We sold the corolla to a relative 6 months ago as-is condition and I haven't heard any issues engine wise from the buyer. The corolla doesn't burn oil and it always passes smog test even at 11 yrs old. Same oil, same viscosity, same extended performance formulation on both vehicles.

Really 15k interval . you can believe.
Using currently in my 2017 Nissan Titan. So far changed twice at 15k. Oil looked VERY close to new both times. NOT dark at all. I am a used car dealer.... I know what dirty oil looks like. My truck was towing a heavy RV trailer (7500 LBS) about 3rd of time. Also I bumped up viscosity to 5w30 Not a big fan of CAFE guidelines telling me what's better for MPG. I almost went 10w30. I have been pairing this with "Purolator" BOSS oil filter. and feel very confident about this oil for my truck. Love the 15k interval and the feeling you have the "BEST" oil on the market in your truck. Will continue to use. Little pricey yes. But saves with the interval.

Short
I usually use amsoil products but couldn't get it this time and was already past due on this service. So I figured I would try mobile one. Bought the 20,000 mile 5 quart jug of oil and the matching 20,000 mile filter. Performed the oil change and filled it up with oil. I poured In 4.5 gallons of your 5 quart jug and my car was still way low. Finished pouring in the rest and it was still low!!!!!! The car is a Nissan rogue with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine that only holds 4.8 quarts of oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have owned this car for 3 years and this sure isn't my first oil change on this car or in my life. Been a professional mechanic for 23 years. Had to go a buy a couple more quarts of your oil. What's up with that. Probably wont use your products again after this. Unless you feel the need to make it right which I am highly doubtful you will.

Still protects after 1 year in the engine
I have been using Mobil 1 since around 1980. I do my own oil changes, and since the Extended Performance came out, I change oil once per year per car (we only put around 10,000 miles per year on our cars), and I change the oil filter at 6 months. One thing I have always done is feel the oil after I change it, by putting some of the drained oil on my fingers and rubbing them together. This oil feels better after 10,000 miles than Standard crude oils do when new. I have never had a mechanical engine failure , ever.

258k miles and won't stop.
I purchased my '05 Corolla with 18k miles on it in 2007. I've used Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 since then. My engine still purrs at 258k miles as of March 2018. I have seen a small reduction in performance and fuel mileage in that time frame, but that is to be expected. My engine does not burn oil. I just wish the car would go bad so I can upgrade to something more roomy!
Corolla recommended oil change is ever 5k miles.
I do the oil changes myself.
I change my oil filter every 5-7k miles.
I change my oil every 10-16k miles.

About oil life...
I've been using Mobil 1™ Extended Performance 5W-30 for about four years. Really an excellent product. I like the fact that my oil changes are only twice a year, but I've never felt completely comfortable with the thought of going near 15,000 miles between changes. Close to 10,000, I tend to get nervous.
Has anyone tried going 15,000? I'd like to hear some comments. And guarantee, schmarantee. What good is a guarantee when your engine is baked?
Thanx.... philip

Fantastic oil for a high performance turbocharged
Everything about the environment and conditions my car sees says the oil is going to have a big job on it`s hands. Ultra hot 100+ degree summers, sub freezing winters, heavy traffic, not to mention the nature of a high performance engine outside of environmental challenges. I changed this oil at 8K miles and the oil analysis came back absolutely perfect, even with 100K miles on the engine and it didn`t burn a single drop between changes. Three decades of high performance involvement and I`ve not seen an oil quite like this. I have 100% faith in it.
